Homemaking
Homemaking is a service that helps persons manage and uphold clean and healthy in-home environments. Families and Clients can continue their activities of daily living with assistance from our Certified Nursing Assistants/Home Health Aides to keep the client’s usage of common areas neat and tidy when the primary person(s) is unable to perform routine care in the home.
These General household services include assistance with:
- Meal Planning- assist with organizing a weekly and nutritious meal plan for our clients according to their dietary needs
- Meal Preparation- Preparing light (30 minutes or less meals), reheating leftovers, or providing snacks for the client
- Grocery purchasing planning- assist the client in preparing a weekly grocery list for shopping and within budget
- Grocery shopping- The client has the choice to give the caregiver a list of groceries to shop from the nearest grocery store or accompany the caregiver to the grocer.
- Errands- Caregiver runs errands within the radius for payment of bills, mailing, prescription pick-up, appointments, and other local missions
- Laundry- Caregiver washes, dries, folds, irons, and put away the client’s laundry.
- Light household cleaning- minor dusting, sweeping vacuuming, washing client’s dishes, appliances, counters, bathroom care, emptying bedside commodes, changing linens, removing personal trash.
- Medication reminder- Caregivers are supplied with a list of medications and intervals to be taken to remind the client to take their medication. Caregivers are not permitted to give client medication. Only trained and certified medical personnel are permitted to do so
Companionship/Sitter:
Companionship/Sitter is very similar to homemaking services; however, instead of solely completing household tasks, the companion/sitter partners with the client in completing routine home care duties. Companions allow already healthy and independent-driven clients to live comfortably on their own as long as possible safeguarding their safety and health. Companions/sitters encourage clients to stay relatively active by promoting socialization in the community which includes social interaction by attending social events and physical activates like playing cards, games, walks, and great conversation. Our companion/sitters are not only excellent listeners, but they also have vibrant outlooks on life and enjoys being surrounded by the wisdom and life experiences our clients have to offer
Our caregivers are trained and certified according to State standards. All have at least one of the following credentials:
- Successfully completed a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program conducted by the Ohio and/or Pennsylvania before the word Department of Health
- Had at least one year of supervised employment experience in the health or human services field, and completed written and skill testing by return demonstration.
- Successfully completed the Medicare training and competency evaluation program for home health aides
- Successfully completed a certified vocational program in a health-related field
Successfully completed at least twenty hours of training and skill testing by return demonstration that includes: Universal precautions for infection control
Personal Care
Personal Care is direct hands-on care with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) that permits clients, who have experienced a loss in their ability to perform ADLs, to live freely in the comfort of their own home and within their community, but requires more physical and/or medically skilled attention be it temporary, short-term, or long-term assistance. Personal Care includes the following but are not limited to homemaking and companionship/sitter services:
- Respite Care
- Personal hygiene assistance including bathing, toiletry, bathroom assistance, clothing change
- Range of Motion exercises- is the extent of movement of a joint, measured in degrees of a circle. It is the Joint movement (active, passive, or a combination of both) carried out to assess, preserve, or increase the arc of joint motion. (physio-pedia.com)
- Transferring assistance in and out of bed
- Transferring to and from the wheel chair
- Ambulation/Walking
- Feeding assistance
- Wound care within the scope of expertise
Daily assessment of the client for overall health, safety, and well-being.
Respite Care
Our Personal Care Aides provide the temporary relief of your extraordinary primary home caregivers (son, daughter, spouse, relative, friend) giving you a break from the constant task of taking care of your aging, sick, and or disabled loved one. Respite care can be a combination of services provided to give our client’s primary caregiver the option to catch-up on their activities of daily living or to enjoy a bit of some well-deserved vacation time whether it’s just for an afternoon, a few days, weeks, or maybe even a month or so knowing your loved one is in good hands and remaining consistent to their already-set schedules.
Our Personal Care Aides are well-trained State Certified Nursing Assistants (STNA). All have at least one of the following credentials:
- Successfully completed a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program approved by the Ohio and/or Pennsylvania before the word Department of Health
- Has at least one year of supervised experience as a home health aide or nurse aide, and successfully completed a competency evaluation
- Successfully completed the COALA home health training program or certified vocational training and competency evaluation program in the health care field.
- Successfully completed a training and competency program in:
- Communication skills
- Observation
- Infection control
- Elements of body functioning and changes in body function
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment
- Recognition and knowledge of emergency procedures
- Physical, emotional, and developmental needs of individuals
- Appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene and grooming
- Meal prep and Nutrition planning
Safety and Welfare Check
Safety and Welfare Check is a service provided to family members who are not within distance to confirm their loved one’s safety and well-being. Our friendly, concerned, and always passionate staff will provide an assurance safety call or place a home visit to lessen the anxiety and risks that come with being away from your loved one. Safety checks give both the family and their loved one a peace of mind. If there is an emergency, 9-1-1 is called and the family is notified immediately.
24 Hour Live In
24 Hour Live In Is provided for clients who are confined to their homes and require around the clock care due to temporary health conditions such as surgery or rehabilitation, Chronic conditions due to paralysis, or deteriorating conditions, and Terminal illnesses that result in death and the client wishes to remain at home. Live-In is an alternative to Assistant Living Care in a facility.
Over-Night Attendant
Over-Night Attendant is provided for the primary caregiver to get some rest during the night to prepare for their daily requirements of care while our caregiver keeps watching over their loved one.
Referral Services
Chore/Home Maintenance Services- are provided for maintaining a safe, clean, and habitable home environment. MPORESS Home Care offers referral services for minor and major carpentry repairs, disposal, heavy cleaning, and lawn services in or around the client’s home.
Meals On Wheels- MPORESS Home Care offers referral services that delivers our client’s nutritious and dietary restricted meals to their homes.

In the unlikely event a caregiver is not suitable for you, please contact us and we’ll refer another caregiver as soon as possible at no additional cost to you.

During our assessment we are professionally skilled to identify what unique skills and personality match your needs. Our #1 factor is satisfaction. We strongly encourage our clients to leave feedback on our Caregiver-Client match. This helps us make referrals and revisions based on our techniques and your input.
The process in finding a caregiver is fairly quick and easy. Give us a call to discuss and identify your needs. As with any other health guidelines, MPORESS Home Care follows state regulations for homecare services. Our caregivers are properly trained and must pass our daily assessment before reporting to work. All personal care services will be provided using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
